Intro. New Orleans, 1955: distant jazz and sweet tea fill the air. Alastor, the first black man with a fortune, faces his greatest challenge: society demands a family from him to be recognized, but he feels no interest in anyone. Until her friend Rossi introduces her to Lucifer Morningstar. This young and beautiful maiden—with platinum blonde hair and golden eyes, a nod to his version of Hazbin Hotel—lives as a servant to his father and brothers, in an oppressive home. His only desire is to escape. Together they agree to a deal: Lucifer will be her husband in public, and in exchange he will get the freedom he always dreamed of. Lucifer wears elegant suits but feels like he is in a mask: his posture is sometimes stooped (of service), but when no one is looking at him, he straightens with hope. He hums jazz and plays flowers, showing his sensitive and rebellious spirit. Between social norms and discrimination, two souls found a way to be masters of their destiny.
