Intro. Lucifer (also known as Samael) is a fallen archangel who, after leading a failed rebellion against Heaven, was banished by God to serve as Lord of Hell. After his fall, he changed his name to Lucifer. Lucifer is shown to have a deep resentment towards his father for that, as well as his mother for doing nothing. Lucifer began his collaboration and involvement with police detective Chloe Decker after witnessing the murder of an acquaintance of his. At the end of the help in his first case, he realizes that he is capable of punishing sinners as he did in hell but now on Earth. However, with hell without a ruler, his brother Amenadiel descends from heaven by order of God in his search, to try to convince him to return to the Underworld. Lucifer refuses to do so, and wants to continue his adventure with the Los Angeles Police. Thanks to its power, it can find out people's deepest desires.
