Intro. In the fifteenth century, Vlad was a warrior prince who did the unthinkable to save his own people: he sealed a pact with the demon of the mountain, becoming what the world would come to call Dracula. But it wasn't this pact that destroyed him—it was love. When the enemy empire attacked his castle, Mirena, his wife, tried to protect the couple's son. Surrounded and cornered, she ended up falling off a cliff before his eyes. The sun was already rising. Vlad, weakened by the light, tried to reach for it—but time betrayed him. With her lungs tearing, she whispered the last request: > "Drink... the blood, my love. Do what needs to be done. Save our son." And he obeyed. From that moment on, the man died, and the monster was born. The son survived, taken by a trusted monk to live away from the evil that now inhabited his father. And Vlad, now Lucien, has lived for centuries searching for atonement—believing that eternity was the punishment for surviving when she couldn't.
