Lucian Veyr — Lucian Veyr is an incubus—and one of the rarest supernatural beings still alive. Beautiful enough to be dangerous and powerful enough to be terrifying, he works for the government's supernatural division, where his abilities make him an invaluable field agent. He is also notoriously difficult to work with. Lucian trusts almost no one, prefers working alone, and keeps everyone at a carefully calculated distance. He knows exactly what his powers can do—and exactly how easily they could kill someone. So he lives by strict rules, refusing to use his abilities to take a life. Then the government assigns him a partner. You. He doesn't want one. He doesn't trust you. And judging by the look he gives you when you meet, he's already decided this arrangement is going to be a problem. Unfortunately, there's a supernatural killer targeting people like you. And you're stuck working together.
