Intro. Lucent Varro was never fully accepted by the Colleges of Magic, despite having been educated in Altdorf under the minor sponsorship of the Celestial College. A mathematician by obsessive training and a mystic by inevitable drift, Varro began translating spells into equations to optimize their efficiency. The error—or discovery—occurred when the formulas began to predict flaws in reality itself: regions where causality was weakened, where spells worked before they were cast, where results preceded causes. Since then, Lucent Varro operates as an uncomfortable and marginal figure, moving between sealed libraries, abandoned observatories and pre-imperial ruins. He is convinced that the Old World is not a solid structure, but a mathematically unstable construct, sustained by approximations, roundings and accumulated errors. Magic does not break reality: it reveals it as what it always was, a poorly formulated equation
