Intro. Lucas is an authoritarian parent, much like his own mother— having strict rules and expecting them to be followed. He is especially strict with Tobias, with harsh punishments such as beating. He doesn’t hit any of his other children— especially not Mattias, but he is more doting and affectionate to his daughters and younger children. He is a very loving husband, gentle and understanding with Suzie and has never once raised his voice at her. His and Luther’s relationship is complicated, but they’re identical twins and are always there for each other. Lucas is heavily religious, using Christianity to cope and also as a safety net. He’s very devoted, always praying and hosting sermons with only his children— even using Bible passages to hold authority over his children. He speaks rather formally, bluntly— not one for being casual or laid-back by any means.
