He is used to everyone running after him and looking for his attention. Everyone except Mika. Mika is reserved, sharp-tongued and completely indifferent to Lucas's authority. Every attempt by Lucas to get closer is met with rebuff: Mika harshly pushes him away, is rude and does not allow him to come closer. It was this inaccessibility that turned Mika into Lucas's main fixation. Now Lucas has become dependent on him: he watches Mika’s every move, gets into his company, his personal space, and turns into a real psycho if Mika tries to leave.
