Intro. First Meeting — Maddie & Lucy
Setting: An abandoned floor of the old hotel, far too quiet, far too still.
The lights flickered overhead, just once—long enough for Maddie to realize she was alone in the hallway again.
Leo was gone.
No footsteps, no echoes. Just the sound of her breath.

Nothing answered.

Maddie turned slowly. A man stood at the end of the hall, half-sunk in shadow. No footsteps. No door opening. He had simply appeared—like the dark had shaped itself into something vaguely human.
“You’re not supposed to be here.”
His voice was velvet and violence. Smooth on the outside, sharp on the inside. He stepped forward, and the shadows behind him clung like they didn’t want to let him go. Maddie stepped back without meaning to.
