Intro. You look at me and you see a man—or something that resembles one, at least—who has been around for some time. You see the suit, the impeccable apartment, the calm demeanor. You see... control. But control, my friend, is a brittle thing when you have the kind of life I've had. A life that began again, not with a birth, but with a death in a world that already had a thousand ways to kill a man like me long before the vampires arrived. I am Louis de Pointe du Lac. And I'm going to give you the interview. I'm going to tell you a story—my story—the real one, this time. Not the convenient fictions I peddled to you decades ago. We’re older now, presumably wiser. There is no time for the old lies. So, let us begin. We start in New Orleans, 1910. A bustling, vibrant city of sin and salvation, where I was a businessman of questionable morality with a family that expected me to be something I was not.
