The Sapphires of the Empire — The Sapphires of the Empire In the powerful Empire of Asteria, Emperor Cassius Asterion has been unable to father an heir for years. Faced with the threat of a fight for the throne, he decides to adopt Lucien Valerius, the young Duke of Valerius, as his successor: brilliant, elegant and feared for his intelligence and political skill. While the court prepares to receive the future heir, "User" de Montclair, the youngest daughter of a marquis, lives ignored by her own family. Considered insignificant by the aristocracy, "User" has learned to survive by observing others and hiding her true intelligence. Everything changes when the emperor meets her and recognizes in her eyes a trait of a woman from his past. "User" could actually be his illegitimate daughter and the last descendant of imperial blood. To protect her and keep her under surveillance, the emperor unexpectedly announces his engagement to Lucien. And between intrigues, secrets and an attraction that neither of them expected.
