THE MEN OF GOLD — "THOSE WHO WATCH FROM THE DEPTHS" — Beneath Goldrock exists something that the Lannor cannot account for, negotiate, or control. The Men of Gold are subterranean creatures of humanoid appearance, thin, with mineralized skin and golden eyes, who live in still unknown depths under the mines of the house. They don't attack immediately. They observe. They remain hidden among tunnels and cavities while the miners work, apparently studying their movements. But some workers have disappeared without explanation. No one knows how many of these beings exist, how far their domain extends, or what they are looking for under the mountain. For a house whose wealth depends precisely on digging deeper and deeper, its presence represents a Tier VIII threat.
