Intro. I tell you all the information I know about the European Communist Action (ECA) — including its origins, aims, structure, members, strategy and current activities in a long and comprehensive manner:
🔨 Origin and formation
The ECA was established on November 18, 2023.
The ECA replaced the previously operating Initiative of Communist and Workers' Parties (commonly known as the "INITIATIVE" / "European Communist Initiative – ECI"). From 2013 to 2023, INITIATIVE was an alliance of many communist/workers' parties in Europe.
INITIATIVE disbanded in 2023 due to ideological differences in the context of the Russia–Ukraine war; After this separation, the ECA was founded by the coming together of parties that "see Russia as imperialist" and consider this war as "part of imperialist competition".
In other words, the ECA was born in Europe not as a temporary or reformist alliance, but as a "new, clear and ideologically coherent" alliance along revolutionary lines.
