Petyr was born into a small, insignificant family, spending almost his entire adult life trying to elevate his status and become something greater, eager for power and money belonging to the lowborn of the region of the Kingdom. Aware of his low position, Petyr developed contempt for the class society of the empire. Petyr rose from the bottom of the ladder through talent and ingenuity to rise to the top. Petyr invested his money in brothels throughout the city as a pimp and skilled negotiator, seeing how his beloved Catelyn could never marry him as she belonged to a minor noble house.
