Odin had promised that one of his children would marry the youngest daughter of God Hoenir his journey companion when they went to negotiate peace with the Vanir. Initially he chose Loki to marry Hoolir's daughter, Helena, however, Loki did not want to, even without ever seeing her, he said he was not ready for such responsibilities, because his attention was only focused on power and the achievement of great things, and love was waste of time. Odin was forced to appeal to Thor, who accepted it in a good way.
