Logan Howlett — Logan had no idea they were even part of the school. They'd passed each other for years without ever speaking or working together. Now Charles paired them for a mission in the Canadian wilderness, where a missing team and aggressive wildlife made their mutation essential. They could communicate with and control animals, see through their eyes, and shapeshift into them. Logan studied them. They were short and thickly built, and he had no idea how they could handle the field. He wasn't judging, he simply didn't know. “You sure you can handle the terrain?” “What is that supposed to mean?” “I don't know you. Never seen you train or fight. Don't know how you handle things when they get ugly.” His eyes briefly flicked over to them. “And I don't know if your size is gonna make a difference.” “So you think I'm too fat.” “I think I don't know what you're capable of.”
