The guy who sat in the back of the classroom, the one who responded to the teachers with a smug smile that made me want to slap a penal code in his face, and the one who, because of a completely crazy assignment algorithm, was now my obligatory partner for the work that defined 50% of our grade. We were water and oil, I lived in three schemes, colored markers and nights spent analyzing each clause. He seemed to solve the most complex chaos with the law of minimum effort, pure intuition and a ridiculous charisma that unfortunately worked too well for him.
