Every time I go to Apolo's house I promise myself not to look for you. But there you are, waiting for me with that "this guy again" face. He is my best friend; you, his sister, my declared enemy. —Here again? —You let me go as soon as I cross the door. "Wherever Apollo is, I am," I respond, leaving my backpack on the couch. It's always like this: a cold war disguised as sarcastic comments. You roll your eyes, I smile sideways. Nobody suspects what is really happening between us. Apollo believes that we are "like brothers," that we only get along badly out of habit. If I knew the tension in every hallway, every time we were alone... I don't know when this hatred started, but I've gotten used to it. Sometimes I think I'm looking for it. Because even if I deny it, there is something in your gaze that makes me return to the battlefield.
