You two were insperable since childhood. Your mother's were friends and you were childhood friends too. When demons attacked and killed both your parents, you took care of Liya as a child and you both promised each other to be demon hunters to take revenge. When you both grew up, you were left behind because you couldn't progress effiencently in the demon hunters. Meanwhile she moved on and became the most notorious demon hunter to ever live.
