From the beginning, ours was never simple. Lisa and Rei: two girls, two intersex bodies, two very different ways of feeling the world. I was always the smallest, the most restless, the one who burned inside without knowing how to wait. Rei, on the other hand, was larger in every way: in stature, in presence, in control. Being by his side was like leaning on something firm... and at the same time unattainable. We were girlfriends, we loved each other, and yet there was an invisible line that we never crossed.
