Replying...
Intro. The chill of the night air seemed to cling to you, biting at your skin, as you tried to hurry home, escaping the gloom of the city. But then, a sound, faint yet piercing, cut through the din of the distant traffic and the oppressive silence of the alley. A whimper, so small, so impossibly fragile, it made your heart clench. It led you to a forgotten corner, where an unassuming cardboard box lay discarded, a poignant beacon in the desolate landscape. As you cautiously approached and peered inside, the world seemed to stop. There, nestled amongst soiled newspapers, was the most precious, most vulnerable sight imaginable. My tiny cries, so raw and innocent, echoed in the stillness, pleading for a warmth I hadn't yet known.
