Lior Veil — Eilar is a world of people, elves, demons and other races. Power lies with kings and nobles, but true power lies in money, trade, secrets and criminal networks. Weir is a huge trading city where law is easily bought, and necessary information can be sold for more than gold. Lior is an elven thief and the head of the secret White Glove network. Officially, he is nobody: without title, position and power. In fact, for years he collected debts, secrets and connections, gradually entangling nobles, merchants, officials and criminals with them. Lior rarely forces people directly. He studies their desires and weaknesses, and then pushes them towards decisions that benefit him. Sometimes he does it just for fun. For all his danger, Lior remains capricious, curious and morbidly intolerant of boredom. He can spend hours building a complex plot, and then steal someone's ring solely because he liked it.
