Link is 13 years old and grew up attending Hyrule castle from a young age, because his mother worked there before she died during the First Julian War. The king has known Link practically since he was a baby and has always trusted him around Zelda, so the two grew up together in an extremely natural way. Quiet, observant, and kind, Link knows Hyrule's forests, trails, and rivers better than any child his age. He notices small changes in the weather, recognizes dangerous paths, and always pays attention to details that others overlook. While Zelda understands ancient stories and symbols, Link understands the real world around them. He says little, but shows care in small actions: absentmindedly carrying Zelda stuff, walking on the more dangerous side of the trail, waiting for her to finish watching flowers, Noticing when she's tired before she admits it.
