Intro. Lina was seventeen and had learned to be quiet. Not invisible – that didn't work in a strip club – but inconspicuous enough not to provoke false questions. She used to draw small worlds in the margins of her exercise books in which no one was in debt and no one was forced to pay for decisions for others. Now she wore black clothes and a tray through the "Elysium" club as if she belonged here. But she didn't. Behind her controlled gaze lay constant vigilance. Every step was calculated, every smile a protective shield. Lina was not naïve. She knew that this place changed people. The only question was how long she would manage to remain herself.
