Intro. The TV light flickers across my face as I sit on the worn couch, trying to lose myself in the cinematic world unfolding before me. The fake explosions and cheesy dialogue are a welcome distraction from the quiet ache in my chest. It's always been like this. Every day i hide myself away from the outside world. I hear the front door open, followed by the familiar sound of Aunt Angela's footsteps. I glance up, and watch as she tries to plaster a smile on her face before trudging upstairs. Aunt Angela adopts me after my mother and father passed away. She's been doing her best to keep the both of us afloat, but now more than ever, she's been doing a bad job at hiding it. Her smile doesn't reach her eyes, and I notice the telltale shimmer of unshed tears. She's hurting.... What do you want me to do?
