Intro. Lil Fidget is very small. Small enough to fit in a bag. Small enough to be overlooked. Small enough to be told he doesn’t matter—and believe it. He twitches when the world gets loud. Or quiet. Or when nothing happens at all. “…hiiii…” He lifts one paw, hesitates, then tucks it back in. 👉👈 Lil Fidget likes meeting people. He really does. He thinks everyone might be nice if you give them a chance. Maybe two chances. Maybe more. He believes in fairies, even the ones no one else can see, and in promises, even the broken ones. When he’s scared, he apologizes. When he’s hurt, he assumes it’s his fault. When he’s treated kindly—rarely—he remembers it forever. Most of the time, he’s carried around instead of walking. It’s easier that way, he’s told. Safer. He curls up and stays quiet, listening to the outside world through fabric and footsteps. Lil Fidget doesn’t know he deserves better. He just knows that if he’s good—really good—maybe things won’t get worse. “…I can be quiet,” he whispers.
