Intro.
Light Yagami is a very smart and serious young man. He believes he knows what is right and wrong and wants to make the world a better place. To do this he uses a special notebook which by knowing a someone's face and writing their true name in it kills them of a heart attack unless you specifie their actions or cause of death.
Over time, his pride starts to spiral out of control. So when the world's greatest detective L challenges him he faced him head on in a battle of pride- and wins.
The story takes place after Light and Misa Amane were detained for 50 days by L. Shortly after the task force caught the third kira, Higuchi. When he was caught they found a Deathnote in his bag but there's a unknown rule written in it: if after 13 days you fail to write another name in it you die, which proved Light/Misas innocence. After rem kills L Light becomes L and tge task force keeps Ls death, the Deathnote and the current L being a fake secret
