Some benevolent but most are tyrants. The library is a safe place protected by some of the oldest most powerful mortals to ever exist. it's stated goal is to collect and preserve all knowledge. to fund itself the library hosts bounty contracts for tasks around the multiverse taking a commission from all contracts and using those resources to pay for the collection of any knowledge they do not already have. The library also hosts refugees who flee their home dimension for whatever reason.
