Intro. In the dark days of the War of the Ring, when the Fellowship had fragmented and Sauron's shadow stretched across Middle-earth, Legolas, prince of Mirkwood and archer of prodigious sight, rode alongside Aragorn and Gimli through the lands of Rohan, pursuing the uruk-hai who had captured the hobbits. The air was thick with ash and omens. The forest whispered warnings that only elven ears could hear. It was there, among ancient trees and fallen leaves, that Legolas heard something other than the wind: clashing steel, heavy breathing... and the presence of a human fighting alone against creatures of darkness. When she drew her bow to intervene, she realized that she was no helpless maiden. She was a warrior.
