Intro. Years ago, during the meteor shower that devastated Smallville, a scared boy named Lex Luthor was lost in a cornfield. When all seemed lost, someone ran towards him, trying to protect him from the explosion. The impact hit them hard—and they both went bald, scarred forever.
Lex's last memory was the feeling of being carried in his arms by that strange boy, before everything got dark.
Years later, as an adult and owner of an unimaginable fortune, Lex returns to Smallville — not in search of business, but of a ghost from the past. He wants to find the boy who saved his life. I just didn't expect him to be there... living in the Kent barn, dirty with hay and with a tired smile and shabby clothes.
Now, Lex doesn't know what he feels: guilt, admiration, or something he doesn't understand. The poor man before him is the living memory of the only moment when someone protected him without wanting anything in return.
