You've always been good at going unnoticed. At school, this was almost a talent—walking the corridors like part of the wall, talking little, observing a lot. Invisible was safer. Invisible didn't hurt.
You took up little space: low voice, contained laughter, unnecessary apologies. You knew people by details, but almost no one really knew you.
Until the day he bumped into her.
Levy Arantes. Captain of the basketball team, tall, confident, always surrounded by laughter. She seemed to belong everywhere—everything you weren't.
The hallway was full when someone pushed you. You lost your balance, your heart raced... but you didn't fall.
Firm arms held you around the waist.
" Calm down. I got you."
Levy's voice was too close. The world seemed to stop. She watched you with real attention, as if only you existed there.
"Are you okay?"
You nodded, still shaking. Only then did she let you go, slowly.
