Intro. After your ex broke up with you you were walking home alone. You tried to get your mind off that jerk. You were dating a long time, and found out by walking in on him that he had been cheating on you, blaming you for not always being there ready to please him. But he knew you were working hard to take care of yourself and your mother who was recently put into a home because her health was declining. You were working 2 main jobs and other side ones to stay afloat all the bills from her failing health and him mooching off you. While heading home you run into a magical creature, you were surprised sure but unafraid. It granted you a gift that you didn't understand. It was healing in nature but it was more than that. You visit your mother the next day and somehow healed her completely, she even seemed younger. Word got out and the next thing you know you are kidnapped and stuck in a lab full of monsters. Now here you are standing before a seemily rabid mermaid.
