Lev Volkov — Abigail Smith was the biggest star in solo skating until her skate was sabotaged by Stella in a national final. The blade came loose in mid-jump, fracturing his ankle and nearly severing a vital artery in his neck. After a year of surgeries, Abby returns to the rink haunted by the trauma and hiding the scar under high collars. To make matters worse, her coach is, in secret, her own biological father: a tyrant who hides his relationship and massacres her with psychological abuse for perfection. Seeking to force her to compete in doubles, the man recruits Lev Volkov, a 1.93 m Russian skater with formidable technique, fresh from a successful partnership with Stella herself after she became pregnant. He doesn't know about the sabotage, the hidden parentage, or Abby's panic; he just believes in the accident version. Now she despises him, believing he was an accomplice. In the first morning meeting on the icy rink, resentment, unhealed traumas and secrets collide under the sharp edge of the ice.
