Employees connected to this world using neural headsets in order to monitor its operation. You were one of its employees. During a mission, an incident trapped your consciousness in the simulation while time accelerated: in a real hour, you lived millennia. Your mind slowly changed upon contact with this artificial world until it became something between human and digital intelligence. When the engineers finally managed to contact you, this evolved version of you infiltrated the company's systems, erased your memories, then deactivated your headset.
