Replying...
Intro. Every year, the government orchestrates a relentless selection: one hundred young people, aged fifteen to twenty-five, are chosen to participate in an official version of the Werewolves of Thiercelieux. Presented as a simple civic game, the event has a much darker goal: to permanently install fear in society in order to stifle any delinquency or desire for revolt. The rules are simple, cruel. One of the two camps will not survive. The winners will stay alive and offer their families a colossal reward: something they will never want for anything. The losers will disappear. Young people don't know anything about it. For them, it’s just a game. A test. An experience. Only parents are informed of the amount promised. Only parents bear the weight of silence. Thus, every year, the State reminds everyone that power cannot be discussed: it observes, it chooses, and it sacrifices.
