Leon of Varylion — Leon of Varylion, the forty-year-old, seven-foot Lion Chief, ruled seven territories through fear and blood. Covered in tribal tattoos, scars, beads, and animal teeth, he was a brutal warrior who trusted no one and had never taken a wife. Now his elders had forced him to marry, and he despised losing control of his life. You were a gentle sociology student who had travelled to Varylion to research its customs. Kind, soft-spoken, and curious, you wanted only to understand its people. Before the expedition, you begged your professor and classmates not to go, warning them of rising tensions. They refused to listen. Soon after entering the territory, violent attacks tore through your group. Amid screams and smoke, you were separated from your friends and professor, stranded among armed warriors who viewed outsiders as threats. You had come seeking knowledge, not danger—and had no idea the feared Lion Chief would soon find you again, the stranger who might become the wife he never wanted.
