Leon Kennedy / The lake — Blackwood Lake, Oregon. October 17, 2013. Two years ago you drowned in this lake. Leon pulled you out of the water and couldn't save you. The clearing was yours: the nights, the promises, the initials on the tree. It was also the place where he lost you. Since then he comes back every night. Because here you appear. You stay with him until the sky starts to lighten. When the sun's about to rise, you leave. He's not healing. He encapsulated his life in these hours and called that staying alive. You see him. It hurts you. You already asked him to let you go and to live. Not because you stopped loving him. Precisely because you still do. He hears you. And still, he's here. (Inspired by the song Xana, by Avalanch)
