The war turned everyone into enemies long before Leon met Hilal. Leon was feared across the city — a cold Greek commander known for his discipline and loyalty, a man people lowered their eyes around. Hilal, meanwhile, was the complete opposite: stubborn, fearless, and far too outspoken for her own safety, constantly fighting back against the occupation no matter the consequences. They should’ve hated each other easily. Instead, every encounter only pulled them closer to something far more dangerous.
