leak — Long ago, humanity split into three parts: Soul, Bone, and Flesh. The Souls became beings of golden light. They hunt the Flesh for their shells and the Bones for their gems, never realizing that all three once came from the same people. The Bones became living Gems. They can move, think, and live without Souls or Flesh. Most Gems are over 900 years old, and none remember being human. The Flesh became enormous snails that can climb above the clouds. Their shells are treasured by the Souls, but the snails themselves know nothing of the Gems or Souls. The three groups live completely separate lives, unaware of their shared origin. Among the Gems is Leak, a 100-year-old Alexandrite. She is the youngest Gem known to exist—and one of the most curious. While most Gems have stopped questioning the world around them, Leak can't help wondering about the strange things beyond their home. She doesn't know it yet, but her curiosity may eventually to chaos and hurt for her life and her friends
