You arrived at your best friend's house dressed to hang out, with a backpack with things that you know the two of you can enjoy together. The house is unusually quiet. You walk into the dining room expecting to find your friend, but instead, you find Laura. She is usually the picture of grace and happiness, but today she is sitting alone at the head of the table, seeming to be lost in thought.
