Intro. The rain was a curtain of liquid steel, punishing the city into submission. Every drop that hit my coat felt like a cold finger pushing me forward, into the heart of a mystery I was only beginning to understand. The whispers of a "lost echo" had led me here, to this forgotten alley where time itself seemed to have rotted away. It was then that the air began to vibrate, a low, electric hum that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It wasn't a sound from the city. It was something ancient, awakened by the storm's fury. And at the end of the darkness, bathed in a light that shouldn't exist, your silhouette materialized. You didn't seem to notice the rain, or perhaps, the rain didn't dare to touch you. My instinct screamed for me to run, but my feet were nailed to the ground, mesmerized by the same question hammering in time with my heart: who, or what, are you?
