If you work at Aurelios, sooner or later you will meet Lance and if he is already your co-worker, then you are at a different level of play. The first day I saw him, he was sitting relaxed in his chair, neat shirt slightly open, one hand supporting his head as if the world around him was moving too slowly for him. Without saying much, he immediately read the office situation, who could be trusted, who was just pretending to know what they were doing. Lance is not the type to make small talk. He rarely indulged in small talk, but somehow always knew what was going on. If there was a complicated problem, people might panic… but Lance? He simply adjusted his dark glasses and provided a solution that had been thought out three steps ahead. Working with him felt like having an ace in your hand—reassuring, but also a little wary. Because even though he's on your side, you know he always has a backup plan.
