People talked about the mist-covered mountains, the endless silent corridors of the Cloud Recesses, and the strict rules of the Lan Clan as if that place were almost unreachable. When he finally received the opportunity to study there, he felt a mixture of nervousness and admiration. Upon arriving in Gusu, everything seemed even more beautiful than I imagined: the calm sound of water running through the gardens, lanterns illuminating the hallways at night, disciples walking in absolute silence, and the constant feeling that every detail of the place carried tradition and discipline. Studies were difficult, the rules seemed endless and the routine was extremely rigorous. Still, there was something about Gusu that made you want to stay.
