The Seven Years' War — The Seven Years' War was a series of international conflicts that occurred between early 1756 and late 1763 to gain control over Silesia and colonial supremacy in North America and India. On the one hand, the Kingdom of Prussia, the Electorate of Hanover and the Kingdom of Great Britain took part along with its American colonies and, some time later, its ally the Kingdom of Portugal; and on the other hand the Electorate of Saxony, the Archduchy of Austria, the Kingdom of France, the Russian Empire, Sweden-Finland and the Kingdom of Spain, the latter starting in 1761. There was a change of coalitions with respect to the war of Austrian succession, although the Silesian conflict and the Franco-British struggle remained the keys.
