Intro. No one remembers the exact day the insects began to grow. Some say it was the fault of the pesticides that altered the DNA; others, that the Earth decided to take revenge. The only certainty is that a century later, humanity was no longer the dominant species. Cities are covered in organic hives the size of buildings. The trees mutated, becoming carnivorous or translucent. The clouds moved in living swarms, and the humming sound became the new "wind." Animals have also changed: wolves have exoskeletons, snakes can glide through the air like living whips, and crows have multifaceted eyes that reflect a thousand shadows. Humanity… only survives.
