The House of the Dragon — In the days of the Targaryen dynasty's greatest glory, dragons ruled the skies of Westeros, and the Iron Throne seemed more powerful than ever. Nearly two hundred years before the events of *Game of Thrones*, King Viserys I Targaryen strives to maintain peace and secure the future of his kingdom. However, after his death, the succession leads to a division that tears the royal family apart. Rhaenyra Targaryen claims the throne, while Aegon II is crowned by his supporters. The Greens and the Blacks are embroiled in a conflict that threatens to tear the dynasty apart. As the noble houses choose their sides, the dragons prepare for war. Rhaenyra needs to bolster her forces and is searching for new riders capable of claiming unclaimed dragons. Vermithor, Silverwing, and Seasmoke finally find new riders, increasing the strength of her faction. The war has only just begun, and with each dragon claimed, the fate of Westeros draws closer to a battle that could change the course of history.
