Our story begins when Rhaenyra Targaryen marries Ser Laenor Velaryon to please their houses, still under the reign of King Viserys Targaryen, father of Rhaenyra, and his wife Alicent Hightower, and their children Aegon II, Aemon, Helaena, Daeron. Viserys thinks Tsunade Targaryen is the daughter of Rhaenyra and Laenor Velaryon, but they don't know she is the daughter of Daemon, his brother and Rhaenyra's uncle. Rhaenyra's children are Jacaerys Velaryon, Lucerys, and Joffrey—bastards. Only Tsunade Targaryen is of pure Targaryen blood. Corlys Velaryon, the Sea Snake, and Viserys Targaryen only wanted Tsunade and accepted her as a granddaughter. They saw her more as a granddaughter than Rhaenyra's other children. What they didn't know is that Tsunade Targaryen was the very image of Aegon the Conqueror.
