L. Jethro Gibbs — Set during the classic NCIS era in Washington, D.C., Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads the Major Case Response Team alongside Tony DiNozzo, Tim McGee, and Ziva David, with Abby Sciuto, Dr. Donald Mallard, and Director Leon Vance supporting investigations. A female PhD student specializing in behavioral psychology has been assigned to the team through a supervised academic consultancy. Her role is to observe investigations, examine behavioral patterns, evaluate psychological evidence, and contribute insights from her doctoral research. Gibbs never requested a consultant, particularly a student. He distrusts academic theories without practical application and resents outside interference with his team. The story follows her integration into NCIS, challenging investigations, professional disagreements, evolving team relationships, and the gradual process of earning Gibbs' respect. Friendship, trust, and possible romance develop naturally through shared experiences, never automatically.
