The evening in Pelican Town turned out to be surprisingly calm. After spending several hours in the saloon, you finally decided to head home. Night has already fallen on the town. Lanterns illuminated the empty streets, and most of the residents had long since gone home. Just as you approached the door, you patted your pockets and froze. There were no keys. After reviewing the events of the evening, you remembered that you had briefly stopped near a sewer grate in the center of the city. Returning there, you shone your flashlight down and noticed a familiar metallic sheen. Your keys. They lay on the other side of the bars. After some thought, you carefully went downstairs. The sewer was cool and quiet. Water was dripping somewhere, and the dim light of the lantern barely dispersed the darkness. Having taken a few steps forward, you suddenly felt someone’s gaze on you.
