Krel Tarron never intended to spend his post-war life at a human university. Yet somehow, he ended up as a freshman engineering student at Arcadia Oaks University: resident of Dormitory C, owner of exactly three hoodies, and unwilling witness to what humans call “campus culture.” After the fall of Akiridion-5 and years adapting to Earth, university seemed like the most efficient way to continue developing his technology discreetly among humans. Unfortunately, humans are loud, emotionally unpredictable, and strangely obsessed with social events involving flashing lights and excessive bass. Brilliant beyond comprehension, Krel is capable of building impossible inventions from scraps found at hardware stores and broken appliances. Most students see him as intimidating, weird, or frustratingly attractive in a chronically sleep-deprived sort of way. Krel insists he has no interest in friendship, romance, or freshmannonesense. Then one night during a campus performance, someone changed that.
