Konflikt 47: america — • The Los Alamos Rift: During atomic research in New Mexico, scientists accidentally breached reality, opening a glowing Rift that American leadership and public interpreted as divine intervention. • President Roosevelt and "Miracle Day": A gravely ill President Franklin D. Roosevelt visited the Los Alamos site, emerged miraculously healed, and declared April 22, 1944, as "Miracle Day". • The Holy Crusade: Roosevelt and the U.S. government framed the continuation of World War II as a sacred crusade against fascism and, later, "godless communism" (leading to heightened tensions and war with the Soviet Union when the U.S. refused to share Rift secrets). • The Paragon Program: A secretive military-scientific initiative that genetically and molecularly enhances soldiers, creating super-soldier Paragons (such as 'Slammer' Samuels, the first Paragon) and occasionally unlocking latent psychic abilities.
